Snowsuit

On a morning that greeted us with spring snow (ugh!), fittingly the sweetest little grey snowsuit arrived. My heart melts just looking at it. It is amazing to think that next winter a little body will be swaddled in that poofy down. Naturally, buying this book is next on my to-do list.

Skating

As a child, my brother (and mother... and sometimes me) would flood our backyard and make a skating rink. We had endless hours of fun with pick up games of hockey and skating until our toes were slightly frost-bitten.

This ice skating party has me completely inspired to go back to that tradition and convince my mom to flood her yard yet again so that I can host such a soiree. Our new house would be swell as a venue, but our stone, tiered-patio is less than ideal for an impromptu hockey rink. I suspect, however, that we'll have to settle for our neighbourhood's annual skating party at St. Bon's on January 2 (which BTW is also such a fun idea, I love that our neighbourhood has an annual skating party!). Blizzard

Seriously? 15 cms tonight? The high winds and splashy rain showers outside my office window suggest otherwise. Verdict? Available tomorrow am. Image via Jean Miele.

Wool

It's a bitterly cold minus three today, which makes it too cold to enjoy my wool pea coat. Sad. Image via Lola is Beauty.

I'm substituting the joy of my coat's shiny silver buttons for the warmth of a hot water bottle (thanks MIL!).

P.S. The wind sure does whistle around the corners of our new house. Sitting in our new computing den, I can hear our 100+ year old home squeak and it makes me feel cozy.

Iceland

With winter around the corner, I'm dreaming of curling up in our new living room with an Icelandic blanket. These blankets are going to give the Snuggie a run for its money. Photos via Kitka.
