It's hard to decide how much of T's wardrobe to keep and to give away. Our friends and family have been so generous with presents that our boy has a wardrobe that rivals any stylish babe in the country. In a first step effort to keep close my memories of his earliest days, this post is the beginning of a project to chronicle our lad's wardrobe.

Green Cotton

P.S. As a way to remember Thomas as a new infant, I'm going to begin showcasing some of our favourite pieces from his closet here on the blog. I hope you won't mind this exercise in personal diary-keeping.

Leggings

Thomas lives in striped pants and wool leggings. Seriously. I love to see his little legs wrapped in something warm and cozy. Our little man has plenty of onesies, but seems to be presently outgrowing so many of his (my) favourite pants. To supplement his wardrobe, I love these Polaren O. Pryet leggings. So fun!

I was so excited to learn this morning that J Crew has baby boy clothes! A rush Christmas order for my son perhaps?

Threadless

I'll admit it - I inject a fair amount of my own style preference into my son's wardrobe. When shopping for him I look for anything striped and bright solids. For this reason, Thomas can normally be found in striped stretch pants. However, I am keen to add variety to his wardrobe, particularly as he gets older and is able to make his own style choices. When he's able, I plan to present him with a few outfit options each morning so that he can decide what he wants to wear. I hope it will teach him to make simple decisions and express himself.

These onesies would be a fantastic addition to his wardrobe of solid diaper shirts and woolen sweaters. As I browse the site's offerings, I'm curious to know which graphics appeal the most to our little guy.

Sweatshirt

Magpie Lovely

In preparing our nursery I've used every colour imaginable in the decor and accessories to create a cherry and jovial space for the boy. Given our nursery's styling, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm smitten with these booties from Magpie Lovely.

P.S. I love this nursery!

Update: This afternoon, while browsing a local fabric store, my mom and I came across a great pattern for booties, and some fun fabrics. I'll post the results when available! After this, my next DIY project will be homemade bibs.

Redfish

This evening, post-work and pre-dinner (as per habit), Greg and I soaked up a little evening sun (after a quick rain shower) while strolling the thoroughfares of downtown St. John's. On our journey, I spotted the most beautiful baby kimonos in the window front of Gingersnap. Aren't these pieces beyond beautiful? Images via Redfish.

Stripes

I guess you can never start too early? Our little man's closet already has four pairs of striped pants (and I sprung for a striped maternity dress for myself this week too!). T-shirt available at Estella and onesie available at Nature Baby.

Snowsuit

On a morning that greeted us with spring snow (ugh!), fittingly the sweetest little grey snowsuit arrived. My heart melts just looking at it. It is amazing to think that next winter a little body will be swaddled in that poofy down. Naturally, buying this book is next on my to-do list.
