Port Rexton

We've booked a mini-vacation for late August to the homeland of my paternal family - the Bonavista Peninsula in Trinity Bay. Traveling with my brother and his lovely girlfriend, we'll spend an overnight in Devil's Cove, Port Rexton and will take mini road trips to Trinity and Bonavista. The only decision that remains is whether we want to try a seasonal, local, fixed menu at The Fisher's Loft or at The Twine Loft at Artisan Inn. With a constitutional expert for a husband, Greg will be no doubt excited to see the first court house in North America in Trinity while I love having a mini-holiday to look forward to.

Spatulas

These colours! Divine! These spatulas remind me of times spent licking icing from a bowl as a child (meaning last Sunday while visiting my mom). They also remind me that it is about time I started baking again regularly. Spatulas available from Huset.

Offices

I alluded to the possibility of new prospects here before, and these work spaces make me excited to continue to watch my thoughts come into focus. All creative studios via Brooklyn Bride.

Shorts

Last summer over many hot summer days and nights, I befriended two glorious pairs of sailor shorts (one bright blue, one black). They're fantastic and flattering and slimming and stylish - all things it seems near impossible for the average short to accomplish - but alas, this cut fulfilled all said criteria. Naturally, they were purchased at my beloved Club Monaco.

The Sartorialist agrees with my assessment of this garment! Joy! After much web-viewing-induced envy, I'm happy to once again find myself 'reflected' on that stylish site.

Photoshoot

As a chaser to our wedding day photos (which I promise are forthcoming here), and in lieu of a photo session on our actual wedding day, we've scheduled an additional photoshoot with our photographer to take more photos around our hometown in some of our favourite outfits. Right now, in collecting inspiration for our shoot, I'm loving the look and feel of these photos from 26 Merton Road. Aren't they fun? The subject's polka dot dress is perfection. Solair

On the occasion of Canada Day, a day I associate with backyard BBQ and potlucks, I'm excited to note, after writing about them a year ago, that two turquoise Solair chairs are on there way to our humble abode and we're ever so please to adopt them. Our newly stocked cocktail bar, complete with Hpnotiq, Chambord Liquor and Luxardo Limoncello, is sure to solidify many leisurely evenings spent laughing together on our stone patio. Thanks to Studio Pazo for shipping them to our far away island. Image via Apartment Therapy.
