Kind of loving picking out even more artwork for our playroom. I plan to hang them in green frames (Michaels' Brights are my go-to frames these days. I've used them for a variety of projects). Prints by Mrs. Eliot Books.

Art

Yesterday, I placed an order for three prints for Thomas' playroom and bought checkboard floor mats! I'm excited to host a play date there in the near future.

Coco de Paris is a French mixed media designer who paints on antique paper. I think her paintings are really beautiful.

Mini-Series: Canadiana

I'm excited to note that next week's posts will have a theme - I'll be sharing some of my favourites in current Canadian modern art and design. I hope you'll check back for my posts. xoImages of Thom Fougere's Tyndall Table designed in 2011 via Thom Fougere. If you're in Toronto, you might want to head out to the IDS12 Interior Design Show from January 26 to 29 where the Tyndall Table will be showing.

Popsicle Sticks
For bigger kiddos, these DIY popsicle stick magnets look super fun to construct. This mom loves how graphic they look. Practical and abstract art that's kid friendly? I'm sold. DIY via Pure and Noble. Found via Modern Parents Messy Kids.

Wallpaper
Ok, so now I'm back on the wallpaper train of thought. This option combines wallpaper with an art wall. I could start off by colouring in a few frames and adding fun postcards and photos to the pictures for Thomas, and as he grows he could add to the collection himself. The only downside? If we were to move I'm sure parting with the wall would be incredibly difficult.

Playroom II

I'm getting cold feet about cladding a wall in the playroom in wallpaper. Instead, maybe a collection of twoems abstract prints would provide sufficient visual interest and colour?
We're also thinking of placing a davenport in the room to double as a place to watch movies, hold sleepovers and host guests. In terms of specifics, I'm loving this couch and this one too.

MOMA

In my favourite Dwell magazine to-date, there's a quote from one of the homeowners about how children appreciate modern design. While I've repeated this sentiment back to myself (and would like to believe it so), I'm not entirely convinced. My uncertainty seems confirmed in reading childrens' reactions to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Aren't they the cutest? Found via Handmade Charlotte.
