New

Our little family grew by one last Thursday evening. At 7:35 pm, Greg and I welcomed our sweet son, Thomas Walter - a 8 lbs 7 oz bundle of joy - six days early. Over the past six days, we've been taking time to bond as a family - lots of skin-to-skin contact, story time and monologues spoken to him by each of us about any number of topics regarding our life together, our home and our family. It's been a blissful, dreamy and sleepy few days.

Welcome Thomas. We love you with everything we have. The world has never known someone exactly like you, and we're blessed to be your parents. xo

Cards

I'm loving Lagdom Design's greeting cards. Wouldn't they certainly secure a smile if you were to find one in your post box?

Shoes

Since becoming pregnant, my once narrow size 9 feet (we're talking AA) have become a 10 wide (a C!). Seriously. While I'm sure the wide factor will be a figment of the past post-delivery (as it is a by-product of swelling - sexy, huh?), the 10 has the possibility of sticking around. If this is the case, I'll need to invest in a few new pairs of shoes for fall. At the top of my wish list? Horizontal striped flats.

Emersonmade

With a baby arriving shortly, I've been thinking about ways to streamline my style regimen. Emersonmade has the perfect pieces to help keep it simple - a three-quarter sleeved little black dress that's fitting for every occasion, a button-front shirt for nursing, red trousers to keep a punch of style in a new mom's wardrobe, and a navy blazer with brass buttons that goes with everything.

38 Weeks

With two weeks to go, Greg and I are very much looking forward to meeting our little man. It is incredible to think that any day now might be his birthday. To celebrate his arrival, I've bought some non-alcoholic sparkling raspberry juice, complete with a wine-like bottle, for us to sip post-delivery.

P.S. I can't believe how much my silhouette has changed in the past few months!

Real Estate

MLS troweling is a shared hobby at our house. Though we've bought two homes in two years, we continue to take a peak at what's available in our neighbourhood on an almost weekly (um, daily) basis. In 2009, we bought a home in the spring and in 2010, we bought a home in the fall. However, after paying close attention, it seems summer is most definitely the time to buy, if you're looking for volume (meaning having lots of homes to choose from). There are so many great homes available in our broad neighbourhood right now at a wide variety of price points. Thankfully, we're smitten with our own house, so we're not looking to change up any time soon, but that doesn't mean we don't like to keep an eye on comparable (and step up!) properties in our town. All images above of houses presently available within walking distance of our current home.

K19

Aren't these affordable German pieces of art from K19 amazing? I'd love to hang one in our home. You can see how they look hung in other people's homes here.
